1. What is a booty pop, and what is its significance?
A booty pop is a pair of underwear that has two pads sewn into the back part to give women a little bit more junk in the trunk. I think the only real significance is that curves are back, and skinny is out. There is more to it than just woman having more oomph, its giving them a little bit more confidence that they had initially.
2. Who spends more online, men or women? Proportion? (%, $)
Women spend more online because they are easily distracted. It’s like when a woman goes inside the store to purchase milk, but comes out with everything else BUT the milk. She could have intentions on buying a new throw pillow but then purchase new drapery, table lamps, somehow a new toaster oven and a pair of shoes to top it off. When men shop they are more focused and know exactly what it is that they want. The online shopping industry is a $15 billion industry, due to women spending well over 9.6 billion annually and men spending 4.3 billion.
3. Who spends more time online, men or women?
Again, women spend more time online because of all the distractions that catch their eye. However, men do spend quite some time online because they like to do more of a price and quality comparison of what it is that they are purchasing. Women just love to buy for themselves, their children, their spouses and for any up and coming occasion. Dinner party? New table cloth, dishes, candles, and any other décor they can think up.
4. What advantage do marketers have for women shopping online than men?
Marketers know that women don’t end any sort of purchase with just the item they were initially shopping for. Women on average spend 9.6 billion dollars annually because of all the distractions they feel are necessary to purchase. As oppose to men who spend 4.3 billion dollars annually because they get what they need and that’s it.
